Öykü Penceresi Metni

  • I can't, Nora. That's the problem. It was the one, but it still wasn't enough. Something decisive has occurred. You have to get out.
  • NOOO! What the heck?! That was the one! Bring me back!
  • I won't give up! I'm going to live no matter what!
  • I AM ALIVE.
  • Something, I, a nobody who has been everybody, have learned. It doesn't take any effort to miss the lives we aren't living. But it's not those lives that are the problem. It's the regret. The thing is, we don't have to experience everything to feel what we'd feel in different lives. Love and laughter and fear and pain are universal currencies. We don't need to be everything, because we are already infinite. Sometimes we don't realize it, but our souls, our potentials, are vaster than we can even imagine. Let's look up from where we are occasionally, because, above us, the sky goes on forever.
  • Nora's furious when she's back in the library. Something's different this time. The library is going up in flames, and the ceiling is cracking. The librarian tells her that she can't go to any of the lives anymore and that there's only one book that won't burn. She hands Nora a fountain pen.
  • Maybe I'll give Ash a call. Ask him out to coffee. And Joe. I'll nudge him toward Ewan. I'll visit Izzy sometime. I'm going to start giving more piano lessons and volunteer at the shelter.
  • Nora races to find the book of the future. The pages are completely blank, and she writes the first thing that comes to mind, the bold thing that she wants to scream with every molecule of her being.
  • I'm not a black hole, or antimatter. I'm a volcano. Destruction and life rolled into one. I'm not going to run away. I'm going to stay here, tend to my wasteland, and plant a forest inside myself.
  • She wakes up in the hospital.
  • The End
  • Ironic how Nora ended up in the place she wanted to escape. In the end, it wasn't the place that was the prison. It was the perspective.
  • Nora's pain is inevitable, but her potential is infinite. Her life isn't mediocre. It's glorious possibility.
