After school, Rose and her friends, Violet and Keesha, walked to Rose's house. Rose's older brother, Victor, and Violet's older brother, Reed, were playing basketball outside. Rose's little brother, Owen, was playing basketball, too.

Hey, Keesha. Your dad is here to pick you up.

Rose, Violet, and Keesha went inside and had a snack of cookies and lemonade.

After that, they went into the living room to decide what to do. Violet and Keesha suggested going outside. Rose thought that was a good idea.

Rose, Violet, and Keesha sat on the back steps and talked until Keesha's dad came to take her home.

When Keesha left with her dad, Violet and Rose stood in the front yard to yell good bye.

After Keesha left, Rose's mom told everyone to come inside and sit down for supper.
