Mesopotamia is a small land between the Tigris and the Euphrates river. Due to this Mesopotamians had floods every year!

Mesopotamians were Polytheists. They believe in more than one god, they would offer sacred items to please the gods. They believed if they did something bad, the gods would cause floods or droughts, but if they did something good, they would be rewarded with things like clear weather
Economics
Mesopotamians were the first to invent many things such as: Writing (which we call cuneiform), The first set of written laws (Hammurabi's code), the plow, the wheel, irrigation, and many others.

The Mesopotamians believed in Hammurabi's code, in todays society these rules would be considered harsh or brutal (ex: if a son slaps his father, his hands must be cut off)
The Mesopotamian economic structure was based on bartering. People from many different places would trade goods to get the resources they lacked.
