  • The Replication Game:Learn about Interphase, Mitosis, and Cytokinesis
  • Next
  • During Interphase the cell keep doing what is usually does. In addition to that is also copies the DNA located in the nucleus(for eukaryotes).
  • I'll keep doing what I do. Ooh, and copy my DNA too.
  • Time to make this DNA visible.
  • Prophase! This is where chromosomes start to form. The nuclearlear membrane disappears and the DNA is visible.
  • Recently a new game came out. The name of the game is "The DNA Game". In order to play the game you must go through the tutorial to understand the cell cycle. This game is used by many biology teachers.
  • Metaphase! Chromosomes lined up in the middle with spindle fibers attached to them.
  • This is where the tutorial starts. There are three stages in the cell cycle. The first stage of the cell cycle is interphase.
  • Anaphase! The chromatids split and migrate to the opposite sides of the cell.
  • The second stage is Mitosis. Mitosis consists of 4 steps. Those steps are prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Let's see the first step of Mitosis.
  • The next step is Metaphase. During Metaphase the chromosomes line up in the middle. Scientist believe that they line up in the middle so they are easier to split.
  • The third step is Anaphase. During Anaphase the chromatids split in half and migrate tho the opposite sides of the cell. They are aided by spindle fibers.
  • The last step of Mitosis is Telophase. During Telophase two separate nuclei are formed. They are formed on both sides of the cell. The cell starts to form a furrow in the middle to prepare it for cytokenisis.
  • Telophase! The last step in Mitosis. Here a nucleus is formed on both sides.
