the drunk porter stumbkes to open the door, hung over and angry he has to open the castle door.

Macbeth and Lennox enter, and Macduff complains of the porters slow response to the door. The porter rambles on about the effects of drinking.
A murder, in my house?! No!!!

Macbeth enters, and Macduff asks if Duncan is awake. Macbeth says no, but offers to take him to the king.

As Macbeth, Macduff, and Lennox walk to the kings chamber, Lennox describes the frightful storms last night. Macduff enters the chamber, and comes out screaming.
Lady Macbeth, Macbeth, and all the nobles gather at the crime scene. As Macbeth and Lennox emerge from the room, Donablain and Malcom,the kings sons, arrive.
Malcom and Donablain believe they are not safe. Macbeth declares he killed the guards in anger. Lady Macbeth faints.
