- Korea is divided at the 38th parallel, North Korea is communist whilst the South is capitalist, North Korea is adamant South Korea should become communist however South Korea has made it clear they support capitalism and are not willing to change their beliefs. South Korea has USA's support whilst North; Korea has had Stalin's help.
- Kim il sungs North Korean army were armed with soviet tanks and on June 25th 1950 they charged at South Korea and managed to push them back to the Pusan perimeter, it now looked like North Korea was going to gain control over the South.

- On September 15th 1950, US marines were able to pull of an outstanding amphibious landing which changed the tide of the war, 75,00 troops were involved and Seoul was captured just two weeks later.

- South Korea have now gained control over the war after the amphibious landing, they have pushed North Korea slightly past the 38th parallel and are now being warned that if they continue china will hunt them down.
- In October 1950 china joined the Korean War and were able to push the Un forces back into South Korea, Originally 300,000 troops were Brought from China but this increased overtime.

- China's tactic of pushing as many men as possible worked and Douglas MacArthur was unhappy and said some contradicting statements, this caused him to be fired on April 11th 1951 and replaced with Matthew Ridgeway who wanted to end the war as soon as possible.
- North and South Korea finally signed a peace treaty on July 27th 1953, it proposed the end of military hostility and a demilitarised zone which also established the border between North and South Korea, in the end there was no winner in the Korean War.
