- That must not happen, tomorrow is the ides of March! Will you help me stop this?
- Marc Antony will present Caesar with a crown tomorrow.
- In Rome, Caesar had just returned from a victorious campaign against his arch rival Pompei. In the streets people were cheering and not going to work as they should. Caesar was very popular and powerful in Rome and many people wanted him to become king.
- Cassius did not like this. Rome was ruled by democracy. If Caesar became king then there would be no more democracy and Caesar would rule supreme. He began to conspire against Caesar and tried to tide Brutus (Caesar's closest friend) over to help him. Unfortunately, the only way to do this would be to murder Caesar. Brutus did not like this even though it was the right thing to do - he said that he would think about it while Cassius went to find other people to join him.
- Cassius asked Casca (one of Caesar's advisors) what news had about Caesar. Casca said that Marc Antony would be offering Caesar a crown the next day (the ides of march). Casca agreed to help Cassius kill Caesar and they planned what to do next
