Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom“Tuesdays with Morrie” is a touching story about a professors legacy and life lessons passed on through his protégé Mitch. The two met at Brandeis University in Massachusetts, Mitch enjoyed Morrie’s classes so much he took everyone he taught and when Mitch graduated he presented Morrie with a gift and vowed to stay in touch.
Years passed and Mitch now a Detroit news journalist lost touch with Morrie until one evening he saw his favorite professor on “Nightline” news program in an interview with Ted Koppel. Because of this he soon reconnects with Morrie who he finds out has been suffering from ALS.
As the two begin to rekindle their friendship Morrie’s health deteriorates at a steady pace and Mitch confides in Morrie that his life is not what he expected and he has become disillusioned. Mitch begins to fly out every Tuesday to Boston to spend time with Morrie and the two begin to share a father and son like relationship. Each Tuesday Morrie lectures on life, love, and happiness convincing Mitch to leave his career of chasing movie stars, for the latest pop culture gossip, to do something meaningful with his life.
Inevitably, Morrie passes away and at his funeral Mitch has a meaningful conversation with Morrie in his head. One day Mitch hopes to turn their Tuesday lectures together into a memoir.
