- Nat Turner and an army of escaped slaves went on a killing spree of 58 white slave owners which lit a fuse under the issue of slavery.
- Missouri will enter the Union as a slave state and Maine will enter the Union as a free state to keep the sides even. Any territory south of Missouri can own slaves and any territory north of Missouri will not be able to own slaves.

- The Missouri Compromise served as a temporary band-aid to the issue of slavery however it was not fully dealt with until the Civil War which both sides wanted to avoid however it was impossible because both sides were so passionate about their beliefs.
