Britain wanted to stop the French from completing work on Fort Duquesne in Pittsburgh to ensure they gained control of the river.

The meeting was held in Albany, New York. Benjamin Franklin developed a plan that provided intercolomial government. The tribe and the French attacked from the woods. Their actions frightened the British soldiers into a frenzy of fear. The French and the other Indians were able to take out 450 of the British and wound 500.
