- The exposition in the story is when lizbeth, the protagonist in the story comes to a realization that she no longer has a child mentality after a mistake she made. She has matured and she noticed it.
- Climax
- The first rising action was when Lizbeth had gotten home and got ready for bed when she overheard her father crying for the first time.
- Falling Action
- The second rising action had to be when Lizbeth had found out why her father had been crying. It was because he still couldn't find a job and they would have to struggle in poverty.
- Resolution
- The climax was when Lizbeth out of rage went and destroyed Mrs. Lotties marigolds which were the only beautiful thing that seemed to be in her neighborhood.
- The falling action in margolds was when Lizbeth and all the kidss got caught destroying Mrs. Lotties marigolds. They got yelled at and thats when it hit Lizbeth like a bus what she had just done. Maturity hit.
- Lizbeth felt guilty and upset about what she had done and owned up to her mistake and went to help Mrs. Lottie plant new marigolds.
