- Mom, I think our family's attempts at being progressive are unfortunately racist because you've formed certain assumptions based on what the media tells you.
- In all honesty we are trying to be progressive and inclusive people.

- I'm assuming that the other day my sister made certain assumptions too and this is all harmful. In the act of attempting to be progressive, people can be even more racist. This can be done when signaling out someone, like you guys did, or making assumptions about an entire community that simply are not true.
