- French and Indian War / 1754 – 1763
- The Stamp Act 1765
- The Townshend Acts - 1767
- Description -The French goes to war with Britian for the land of America causing years of war, which the British won.Effect - British is severely in debt which they tax the colonies for.
- Boston Tea Party - 1773
- Description - Even with theNavigation Actsthe war with the French left the British severely in debt so they imposed an stamp act, this act would put a tax on any paper good.Effect - This anger the colonist causing the removal of the Act, but more came.
- Intolerable/Coercive Acts - 1774
- Description - The British, after the first failed act, imposed a tax on imports from Britian to the Americans.Effect - This caused the colonist to boycott any British goods that were taxed. This cause the British to send troops causing more ill between the two.
- Common Sense - 1776
- Description - A group of colonist dressed up as Native Americans and raided cargo ships full of British tea and threw the tea overboard into the harbo.Effects - This caused the British to send more troops to the Colonies and started the spark of the American Revolution.
- Description - After hearing about the raid on the ships, King George made new taxes. These taxs closed the dock that held the raid, only to open when they pay back the amount tea that was destroyed. Another was thethe Quartering Act which made the colonist either pay or hold British troops in their homes.Effect - This was the final straw for the colonist as they got ready to fight back against the British.
- Description - A man by the nameThomas Paine writes a book to rally the people against the British King rule and treatment.Effect - The book gathers followers towards the Amercian Revolution
