  • Researchers experimented 2,516 teenagers, divided by gender. The teenagers were studied for five years, starting when they were about 13-15 years old
  • At the start of the study, the teenagers were asked to complete a "diet survey," which included a question about how often they read diet magazines, with 44 percent of females agreeing and 11 percent of boys admitting to read the magazines frequently.
