- In the late 1900's, animated shows and movies were only being made by Disney, they were usually comedies, and were only marketed towards kids.

- But in the 21st century, things started to change.

- Animated shows marketed towards adults started to gain more attention, such as The Simpsons and Family Guy.
- Scene 6
- Toy story had started a trend of 3D animated movies and shows, and Cars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars followed that trend.

- Throughout the 2000's, animation had started to grow and gain new audiences, as evident by the success of the Disney animation studio Pixar. And by the start of the 2010's, we were starting to see the rise of anime.

- Anime was animated shows and movies from Japan that were hand drawn compared to some of the 3D Pixar movies. Studio Ghibli was a popular Japanese studio who put out many movies throughout the 2000's, such as Spirited Away and Howl's moving Castle.
