  • Brutus reveals to Cassius that he just has personal things to deal with. He is dealing with internal conflict. He has conflict with his friendship with Caesar versus the good of the public and Rome.

  • Cassius explains to Brutus how much the people of Rome just simply love Brutus. He declares that Brutus is unable to see what everyone else sees. He compares Brutus with a mirror to reveal Brutus's worthiness

  • "What means this shouting? I do fear the people Choose Caesar for their king."
  • Brutus fears that Caesar will be crowned and become king. He thinks Caesar will become a Tyrant. If the general welfare of Rome was at stake, then he declared that he would as soon lose his life as his honor.
