  • This is where Gonzaga (originally called the House of Novices was to be built!
  • Fellow Jesuits I think this is where we shall build the House of Novices!
  • The Seminary was soon after reopened and after that, in 1858, President James Buchanan signs the Act of Congress which created the "President and Directors of Gonzaga College.
  • I believe this is a good place too!

  • After many changes to the House of Novices ,including Jesuits creating a House of Philosophy in 1820, they decided to take in students for a good education in 1821.

  • The House of Philosophy, now known as the Washington Seminary was temporarily closed in 1827 due to poor funding.
