The first day of 2nd grade

"Francesca, aren't you excited that we are in the same class this year!" said Penelope. "Yes Penelope, I am very excited to be in the same class with you this year for the first time," said Francesca.
Later that day Francesca and Penelope went out for recess, but there were more kids playing on the playground other than the 2nd graders. So Francesca and Penelope asked their teacher.
"Mrs. Smith, " said Penelope. Why are there so many kids on the playground?" We have to share the playground with the 3rd graders." explained Mrs. Smith.
Why do we have to do that?" asked Francesca. "We don't have enough playground space, so 2nd and 3rd, graders have to share recess time," states Mrs. Smith.
So Francesca and Penelope go play on the playground, and a while later they go back inside and finish up the first day of school. After school, Francesca and Penelope go home and tell their moms about their first day back at school.
"Mom, Mom, guess what we did at school today?" said Penelope. "What did you do at school today Penelope?" asked Penelope's Mom.
