- I am from a town far from here. They were so many rules and they were going to kill Gabriel, so I had to steal my father's bike and escape with him. Where are you guys from?
- We are from a village in a dessert called Isiuwa. It is surrounded by dunes and whistling gods that supposedly kill you if you try to leave, but they brought us here. A long time ago, our moms escaped, but we didn't go with them. So, we just escaped to fnd them.
- So where are you from anyway?

- It is a lot better than Isiuwa here. In Isiuwa, everyone had to be the same. Everyone had to follow the weird rules that the Chief and the elders set.
- Yeah, this is great. In my old village, everything was very gray and there were so many rules. Initially, I didn't mind them, but then the Giver game me these wonderful memories.
- This is our village. We have been living here since the whirlwind brought us here and reunited us with our moms.

- Yeah, it is great that we were both able to escape and find/keep the things that we care about.
- It seems like we both were in societies with a lot of pressure to fit in and an oppressive government.
