the Chinese are making their way to America after the thought of a new and improved life. they wanted to have freedom from their country and also had the idea to go west with Americans because of the news of gold found in California.
we mine as well follow other americans to california, maybe we can get rich also.

the chinese were hated against by most people west, they were treated with disrespect from all over, some americans even had the audacity to come up to the chinese and cut their beautiful hair while they were panning for gold. the government even supported this bad behavior, which led to anti-chinese riots.

the Chinese were basically forced to work on the railroads after they were kinda kicked out of the gold mines and had nowhere else to go, working on the railroads was the hardest job out there and the Chinese were stuck with it, they also ended up making china towns to have a place to live away from Americans
not fair, we could be out panning for gold but no we got stuck on doing railroads, as a job
