- At this point in the book, Ava comes up to Tally and gives her a shirt. Ava tells her that she has to wear it for school spirit. Tally doesn't want to, but puts it on inside out to hide the logo that she doesn't like. Ava is upset because she designed the shirt.
- I don't want to wear this ugly green shirt!!!
- Have school spirt! You HAVE to wear it Tally!
- Hi Ms. Jordon! I came up with a room arrangement for me to be with my friends.
- Tally and Ava are going up to Ms. Jordon to talk. Ava has an idea and gives the paper with sleeping arrangements to Ms. Jordon. Tally gets mad because she can't be with Spider but Ava gets to choose where they sleep. They keep bickering and Ms. Jordon gets mad and takes her chart into consideration but there are no promises.
- That's not fair! I can't be with Spider but she can come up with the sleeping arrangement!
- STOP FIGHTING!
- Why do I have to be with Ava. SHE IS SOOOO ANNOYING!
- Tally, your roommate is... Ava
- Tally, your roommate is... Ava
- Tally is in math class and all the kids find out who they are with. Tally is with Ava, Sonnet is with Haley, and Spider is with Marco. All three of these people were mean to them and Ms. Jordon put them together to work out their differences.
- Sonnet, your roommate is... Haley
- Spider your roommate is... Marco
