- 1957: although some schools had desegregated across the US not one school in the Deep South had been desegregated
- Due to this central high school of little rock Arkanas accepted 25 students, with 9 who finally attended
- To prevent us from attending the school, Governor Faubus announced publicly state troops would prevent us from entering the facilities. Causing a reaction from racist segregationists

- Although the NAACP had organised the students to arrive all at once, I didnt receive the call and had to face an angry mob on my own

- The mob threatened us with violence, and prevented us from entering the facilities. The situation escalated to the point president Eisenhower had to intervine

- yes! we did it!
- Yet students at the school constantly harassed us and our families, proving a change in policy does not change people's views
