- Jacqueline Cochran was born rural west Florida the year of 1906.When she was young she worked at textile mills.Soon after that as an early teen, she was hired at a beauty shop to sweep the floors.A couple years later she started cutting hair for a living, but that wasn't what she wanted to do so she enrolled in nursing school.
