- On her way to her parents' house, she gave birth to Prince Siddhartha in the Lumbini Garden.
- Asita, the prophet, predicted that Siddhartha would either become a great ruler or a Buddha. However, his father, King Suddhodana, only wanted him to succeed the throne.

- He began to meditate under the Bodhi tree for 49 days. Despite the disturbance of Mara, the demon, Siddhartha was enlightened and became Buddha.
