Macbeth meets the 3 witches. They tell him he'll be Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor and King. Macbeth was already Thane of Glamis.
Do you think I should? It's bad isn't it?
If the witch's prophecy is true, go and kill him!

As soon as he gets back to the castle, Macbeth is told he's the new Thane of Cawdor. (The old one was a traitor)
Everybody had a party because Macbeth was Thain of Cawdor. Then, everyone fell asleep because they were drunk. Macbeth decided to kill King Duncan...
... While lady Macbeth threw his blood on a servant so it looked like the servant did it.

He is contemplating killing the king but is having second thoughts
What happened?
Arrgh! What happened to the King???
Wait! It was you! You have blood on your chest!
No! It wasn't! Honest!
In the morning, a servant walked in and saw Duncan dead. They believed it was the other servant because they were covered in blood.
