- In the mid 1670's, tensions between the Native Americans and farmers arose. Many disputes occured over the ownership of treaty-protected land. One of the most prominant being a series of retailliations between the Doeg Indian's and Virginia farmers. Many death's occured.
- IT's MY land
- No way! What are you talking about it's ours!!!
- Work it out yourselves... whatever you do, don't fight!
- A group of farmers go to the Governor of Virginia, Governer Berkley, in order to advocate ideas about what should be done about the Native Americans. Berkley proposes that they build multiple forts in order to protect the land, however the farmers feel that this is inefficiant and unneccissarily expensive.
- Governor, how should we deal with these conflicts with the Indian's?!
- Nathaniel Bacon is elected the leader of a group of farmers who do not heed the govorners orders to stay awat from the Native Americans. The group is able too manipulate a Native American trube into killing the Susquehanock tribe. Bacon's group then attacks and kills an entire village. After returning, Bacon demands that he lead a militiainto a battle against the NAtive Americans.
- As the leader of this group I believe that we must FIGHT men! I don't care what Berkley says!
- Bacon's group writes a document that critisizes Governor Berkley entitiled The Decleration of the People of Virginia. Bacon takes a group of 300-500 men who burn down the capital at the time - Jamestown. The forces end up retreating after being outnumbered.
- HAHAHA BURN BURRRRRNN!
- After the Jamestown attack, Bacon dies from dysentery in October 26th, 1676. The death of the groups leader leads Bacon's group to be weak. Berkley orchestrates attacks on the rebels in th eChesapeake area. This led to the rebellion being disarmed.
- Rest in Peace Bacon!!!!!
- In the end, Governer Berkley arrives home to a burned and destroyed Jamestown. As punishment for the rebellion, Berkley hangs 23 rebels. Berkley is then sent back to Europe and is relieved of his title as governor.
