- Once upon a time, Mr. and Mrs. Birch had a little girl named Fern. They took her home from the hospital, and everything was perfect until something changed.

- Slowly, Fern's skin began to turn green. Her hair and eye color even began to transform. Both Mr. and Mrs. Birch were shocked and extremely worried about this transformation. They quickly rushed her to the hospital.

- The doctors were surprised and quickly ran many tests, including genetic testing. They told Mr. and Mrs. Birch that Fern had a mutation in her genes. In addition to mitochondria, she also had chloroplasts in her cells, just like plants. Her body was able to use photosynthesis to convert sunlight to energy. Her skin appeared similar to a plant leaf with a cuticle like layer and stomata.The doctors said Fern would be able to carry out a normal lifestyle.
- Eventually, Fern grew up and had a family of her own. It turns out her mutation was dominant, and she passed it on to her children.

- After several generations, there was a whole population of plant people that were ancestors of Fern. Regular humans began to shun the plant people because they were so different. The refused to interbreed with the plant people so they turned into a different species of human. So the plant people moved to a different area on Earth, far away from the humans.

- Many years later, the humans were really struggling. They had depleted so much of the natural resources left on Earth that they were struggling to survive. There was barely any oxygen left in the atmosphere, and they were running out of time. They weren't able to do cellular respiration without oxygen masks.

- Meanwhile, the plant people had turned their area into an amazing ecosystem. Everything in nature was living in harmony, and they were very happy.

- One scientist named Dr. Thornwell decided to find a solution to save the humans. He spent years looking for a way to reverse the effects of global warming and CO2 emissions.

- After countless hours of research, Dr. Thornwell came across an old newspaper article about the plant people. He came up with the brilliant idea to find the plant people and seek their help with solving the lack of oxygen in the atmosphere.

- Dr. Thornwell traveled for many months across the desert landscape. He encountered many hardships such as the lack of water, the intense climate, and the lack of food.

- When Dr. Thornwell finally arrived, the plant people were shocked. This was the first time that some of them had ever seen a human. Some of the older ones were scared because they had heard stories from their parents about the cruelty of humans.

- Dr. Thornwell explained to the plant people the poor condition of the rest of the Earth. He told the plant people that if they did not help almost all of the humans would surely die.

- Dr. Thornwell explained the interconnectedness of the world. He showed the plant people that if they did not help, humans would stop breathing out carbon-dioxide. This is what the plant people relied on to do photosynthesis.

- However, many of the plant people were unsure because of the poor way humans had treated them in the past.

- After lots of convincing, several plant people agreed to travel back to the human world with Dr. Thornwell. They realized their lives depended on human survival.

- Once back in the city, Dr. Thornwell instructed the plant people to just breathe. However, the humans still didn't like the plant people.

- Once the humans realized that the plant people were actually helping them, their attitude quickly changed.

- Dr. Thornwell was praised for his outstanding research.

- Plant people taught humans about conservation techniques. The environment continued to improve. Humans no longer needed masks and the air was much cleaner.

- More and more plant people began to move to the cities. They lived among humans peacefully.

- Humans and plant people learned to live peacefully together. They created families together and continued to improve the environment. The end!
