- The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street Theme. Mankind is its own worst enemy
- One major theme of the "monsters are due on maple street" by rod sterling is mankind is its own worst enemy One example that supports this theme is that when their was a dark figure coming tawards them an then charlie shot him out of fear their for killing one of his friends and was so quick to do so then tried to make exusise to try and get them to not turn on him Another example is when all the resedents chase and try and hurt charlie after the insedent and destroy part of his property while doing so with shards of glass cutting him then tried to get out of it by saying the kid is the monster since he was the only one who knew about aliein landing and all the way at the end of the story all the people that lived their turned on each other and got wepons to kill them all because their was just lights turning on and of from house to house which put fear and suspiton into all of them making them do the actons that they did the show the aliens taking about mankind being its worst enemy and in conclusion it will then prove my clam about, Mankind is its own worst enemy.
