- The tariffs force Britain to buy from us!
- Cause 1: Tariffs were passed to raise the price of imported goods. The South hated the new tariffs because they made foreign goods more expensive. The North liked the tariffs because they forceed Britain to buy from them. Because of the disagreements, they called it the Tariff of Abombinations.

- We nullified the Tariff of Abominations, if you force us to pay it we will secede!
- That would be treason, and I have the power to use military force against you.
- As a result of the Tariff of Abominations, VP Calhoun (South) nullifies the tariff. He says that if the North forces them to pay the tariff, South Carolina will secede. Andrew Jackson (North) sees this as treason, and can use military force against Calhoun for nullifying.

- The compromise of 1833 will lower the tariff.
- I'll repeal the nullification.
- Henry Clay proposed the Compromise of 1833 to make the North and South happy. The North agreed, and the South repealed the nullification.
