- The two boys that meet up at first. We later learn that the fair haired boy is named Ralph. The little little fat kid is named piggy and he also has asthma.

- The were on the beach and we find out that piggy has asthma and he lived with his aunt. The were walking around the beach but decided to go back into the forest. They also find out that piggy can't swim because of his asthma.

- Ralph and piggy walked back into the forest and find a lagoon. They were talking about the island and find something that is sticking out of the water. Ralph notices it at first and piggy thinks its a stone at first.

- "A chief! A chief!""Let's have a vote"pg 22
- Piggy wants to blow the conch to find other passengers but can't because of his asthma. He has ralph blow into it and another kid comes out of the forest. Ralph ask for his name and he says it's johnny.

- They all come together after ralph and piggy find more people. They want to know each others names so they gather in a circle to introduce themselves. Piggy didn't want to get made fun of so he told ralph not to call him that in front of others. Ralph ends up doing it anyways and the boys laugh at him.
- The boys come together and decide that they wanted to make someone in the group a leader or chief. They decide to vote on it. They all come together and decide that Ralph should be the chief because he had the conch.
