- Sir Francis Drake set 5-8 old burning ships and sent them floating towards the Spanish Armada. The plan was a resounding success and this then made the Spanish break their cresent formation and flee (In fear of the English) further up the English channel.

- After the fire ships were sent out the Spanish panicked and cut their anchors this gave the English a huge advantage the Spanish had no were to go so they decided to go up past Scotland and Ireland to get back to Spain.
