- Hey! I'm Spanish explorer Coronado. I went searching for the golden city of Cibola in 1540. I've seen the Grand Canyon, the Pacific Ocean, and the Palo Duro Canyon.
- In the end, I never found the city. Although I brought back valuable information about the region and people, the Spanish eventually ignored and abandoned Texas for quite some time.

- Hi! I'm the famous French explorer, La Salle. I had already explored the Mississippi River and convinced the King to establish a colony there in 1685.
- I've already lost two ships and somehow missed the entire river, instead landing in Matagorda Bay. I built a fort, Fort St. Louis. My fort was attacked later on and only 45 of the original 400 people were left in 1687.

- I along with 7 other survivors left for French Canada. But along the way, my own men killed me! In the end, Spain saw my presence as a threat and built more missions in East Texas.
