- Locke believed the everyone is born with Natural Rights. There was another man name Rousseau that believed the government should offer protection to the people by a Social Contract.

- Peasants had little to no access to food. A factor was the famine happening during this time. At this time bread was considered very valuable.
- Storming of the Bastille
- At this time peasants had to pay 50% of their income. Meanwhile, nobility didn't have to pay taxes and clergy only had to pay 2%.
- Women March to Versailles
