- During the crisis of 1923, Hitler plotted with two other nationalist politicians, Kahr and Lossow, to take over Munich in a national revolution.

- But, on October 4th 1923, Kahr and Lossow told Hitler they didn't want to do the rebellion. This was an inconvenience for Hitler, because there were 3,000 troops ready to fight.

- On November 8th 1923, Hitler and 600 SA burst into a meeting that Kahr and Lossow were holding at a local Beer Hall. Hitler threatened to shoot at them and forced them to agree to rebel and he let them go home. The SA took over the army headquarters and the offices of the local newspapers

- The next day on November 9th 1923, Hitler and the Nazis went to March thinking they'll succeed. However, Kahr and Lossow had called the police and the army. 16 Nazis and 4 policemen were killed during the shootout.
