- Amrey X lives in Axiom, a city where a special serum causes people to only speak the truth. However, she is immune to the serum. Amrey doesn't know what will happen if the government finds out, but she knows she can't let them. So, she runs away and escapes from the city.

- Amrey arrives at the resistance movement, Defiance. She has to train harder than anyone else to be able to go on the mission to rescue her mother and brother from Axiom. Eventually a mission is approved and Amrey is sleected to go!
