Justyce Kennedy Fever

Fever 1793 is a book about a girl who survived yellow fever. My favorite scene is when Mattie gets robbed. They just got back from bush hill hospital. Mattie was at Bush hill because she was sick. Then she went home after she got better and when they got home the house was a mess. So Mattie cleaned it because someone had broken in and stole all their food and the house was a big mess. Later that night Mattie heard a noise. “I like this chess board” said a robber who had just crawled through the window. The other robber said “no lets get out of here!” “No shut up” said the other robber. Mattie told them “stop, that’s mine.” The robber said “It’s mine now.” Grandfather heard the noise and came down stairs with a gun to shoot the robbers. “You can’t shoot that gun” said the robber. Bang…ooooww! he importance of this scene is that it shows how people are stealing food and things because they are starving. The farmers are not bringing food to town and people are hungry.
