  • Once upon a time, there was an amazing ice skater named Paula.

  • When Paula was walking home from practice her coach called her.

  • "Hello coach, what's going on?"
  • Coach, Max, responded, "I have signed you up for the PenSkating competition."
  • They talked quickly after she answered her phone.

  • Paula responded calmly "Ok I'll get the rest of the info tomorrow." She quickly hung up after
  • Even though Paula had responded calmly she was having an internal freakout.
  • The PenSkating competition was only for the best of the best!

  • The next day at ice skating practice.
  • Coach, Max, said "You're going to do a simple routine into a "Jump and twist".
  • Paula Responded "Oh, Ok."
  • "NO NO NOOOOO! Not the "Jump and Twist"

  • After Coach, Max, left she knelt down feeling like she could cry because she had to perform the "Jump and twist" her WORST trick causing her great stress.

  • For the next 2 months, she practiced as hard as she could but she couldn't seem to get the "Jump and twist" down. She would fall or fly into things feeling the cold ice touch her skin.

  • Paula thought "I'm going to try one more time and then tell coach I'm dropping out of the competition."

  • So she skated all around the rink doing fancy twist and turns before jumping and twisting.

  • Paula sat down after failing once again and cried her tears falling onto the ground with soft sounds.
  • "I just cant do this!"

  • Her coach soon walked in and when he saw her he asked.
  • "Oh Paula, what's wrong?"

  • She exclaimed with tear filled eyes and a shaky voice.
  • "Coach, I can't do this I'm going to have to drop out of the competition!"

  • "Paula, you can't give up just yet, you are one of the best skaters on our team. You just have to trust yourself.Now get up!"
  • Coach Max just smiled a huge smile that could reach the sky and stated.

  • "What do you mean I have to trust myself?"

  • So Paula tried again and again until finally landed her routine perfectly. She screamed in a happy voice!

  • It was the day of the PenSkating competition and Paula was determined to win!
