- I discovered that you should wash your hands is great when I noticed that mothers were dying under medical care because of the spread of germs through the doctors from other patients. After I found this out, I made hand-washing required, and the death rate was a lot lower.
- Today, we have many good practices like washing your hands benefitting from 200 more years of collective learning. Back then, in the early 1800s, that wasn't the case. For example, Ignaz Semmelweis discovered that you should wash your hands.

- Illness is not only caused by God or magic, but by not having a healthy diet, or not getting enough exercise. It could also be caused by humors, or fluids.
- First, we meet Hippocrates in Greece of 400 BCE.

- Next, we meet Galen, another Greek who lived in 150 CE.
- I took the idea that disease is caused by the humors from Hippocrates, and built off of it. I think that you have four humors, or fluids - black bile, yellow bile, phlegm, and blood. Disease is caused by an imbalance of these humors.
