- In the beginning of Act 1, it starts off in a conversation between Iago and Roderigo. In this conversation, we learn that Othello gave the job Igo longed for to Cassio which made him furious, and we also learn that Roderigo is in love with Desdemona who happens to be married to Othello. Moments later, Iago gave a monologue stating how he doesn't follow the moor , but God and Himself, and is only pretending to be Othello's friends for his own interest.
- How dare that moor give the job I WANTED to an unworthy man, just you wait, I have a plan up my sleeve to ruin that moor.
- To cause trouble for Othello, Iago and Roderigo wakes Brabantio, Desdemona's father, up in the middle of the night and tells him that his daughter is sleeping with Othello in order to rile up Brabantio and his family and believe that his daughter was taken away by using witchcraft.
- BRABANITO YOU'VE BEEN ROBBED BY THEIEVES!!!
- Before Othello can make his way to see the Duke, Brabantio shows up and confronts Othello. As Brabantio starts to mentions all the false claims about Othello, Othello in a calming manner denies all these rumors and he tells Brabantio how much trust he has in his marriage with Desdemona. As soon as Brabantio tries to attack him, Othello was summoned by the Duke and Brabantio tagged along.
- HOW DARE YOU CAST A SPELL ON MY DAUGTHER, DIVORSE HER NO, ICANNOT LET MY DAUGTHER MARRY A MOOR SUCH AS YOU!
- I can never do such thing; I swear on my marriage that I never stolen your daughter and that we are both happy together.
