Odyssey Book 24

In this scene of Book 24, Hermes begins to lead the suitor's souls down to the house of death. That is where they come across King Agamemnon and Achilles speaking to each other. Agamemnon questions Amphimedon, a prince of Ithaca he knew and one of the suitors. Amphimedon tells Agamemnon of his death to which Agamemnon congratulates Odysseus and his loyal wife.
In this scene, Odysseus meets his miserable father, Old Man Laertes. Odysseus tests his father and questions him about himself, Ithaca, and the suitors. However, this proves difficult as Laertes gets emotional, and eventually, Odysseus gives in and tells his father who he is.
