- I feel the cool wind blow past me and my heart beats in rhythm to the footsteps my feet make as I run. 25 m, here I come! I think as I reach the 25 m line, Sunny and Patty whooping and hollering in the stands along with the rest of the team. Then I hear Ma’s and Aunt Sophie’s yells of encouragement and I see Lu’s Ma jumping up and down and screaming “LU! LUCKY LU!” at the top of her lungs.

- Sweat was dripping waterfalls down his face and neck. His mouth was parted slightly either from exhaustion or from being as shocked as when he found out I ran or when everyone started laughing at him when I showered chocolate milk on his head. His hair was oddly plastered in no normal way ‘cause nah that guy ain’t ever normal you know? Ha! I turned my mind and eyes back to the front and I realised I must’ve passed the 50 m checkpoint already ‘cause the finish line wasn’t that close before and I mean it ain’t that close a second before right? But just then there was a quick gasp and the sound of someone hitting the ground and I whip my head around and see Lu on the ground.
