Walter Lee soon comes in and gives Travis more than enough money. Ruth gets upset because she had already told Travis no because they didn't have money to spare.

- Momma tells the family that she has bought a house in an all white neighborhood.
- A man named Linder comes and is from the community Clybourne and is trying to negotiate with the Younger family so they don't move into the neighborhood because they are unwanted.
- The Younger family are getting ready to move into the new house. They realized that Papa earned every single dollar and they shouldn't let it go to waste.
