- Really? I moved from Syria to Berlin because our house got bombed. During the journey, we lost my baby sister when our raft popped on the Mediterranean Sea.
- Hi. I'm Josef. I moved from Berlin to France in 1939 because the Nazis kicked us out of the country because my family was Jewish.
- 2025 Berlin Olympics

- You guys traveled on a raft? My family traveled on a cruise ship. But my dad was scared of the Germans on board and he jumped off of the MS St. Louis when we were docked in Havana Harbor.

- After that, we traveled to Greece, and then to the Hungarian border. But in Hungary, we were gassed and thrown into prison. My dad was beat and was injured badly. But we got out a little bit after.
- Yeah. It was the first time I wanted to actually be seen. Back in Syria, I wanted to be invisible.
- Looks like we both had problems on our journeys for refuge!
- Hmmm... That sounds like what happened to my dad in the Dachau concentration camp.
- I wanted to be invisible after my dad jumped off of the boat, because everybody kept stopping by to tell me how sorry the were.
