- "Not one more acre of maori land"
- After 6 months of planning, 50 marchers left Te Hapua, heading far North on a 1100km walk to Wellington.

- 23rd September they arrived in Auckland, and crossed the Harbour Bridge. Many said the bridge was shaking whilst they walked across, struggling under the weight of all the marchers.
- 60,000 people signed the petition.
- 10th October 1975, Waitangi Tribunal established.
- 13th October there were 5,000 people on hand as Whina Cooper presented a 60,000 signature petition to Prime Minister Bill Rowling.
