- Japan is an island, this affects it by making it isolated and made seafood a large part of it's cuisine. It's also along a fault line which causes earthquakes and volcanoes. It also had mountains which made it hard to travel, and have a lack of farming land.

- At the top of military society is the emperor who was the figurehead and had no real power. Then there was the shogun who had all the real power and was the military leader. After that were the Daimyos who were wealthy landowners and controlled provinces. Next was the samurai who pledged their loyalty and had a strict code of honor they followed. At the very bottom was the peasants who grew food, made wares, and sold items.

- The first religion that I found in my notes was Shintoism one of it's key beliefs is that all things have a spirit in nature. It also has a connection to emperors and it connects to spirit's past. The next Japanese religion was Zen Buddhism which is based on meditation. This was useful for warriors, so they could calm themselves outside of battle.
