My favorite most meaningful scenes to me of The Cay. My favorite scenes of the cay are first, the start of the chapter when Philip couldn't stand Timothy. He was happy that he could spell and Timothy couldn't. In the middle of the story, Philip got angry with Timothy. Philip called Timothy an ugly, stupid, black man. Timothy did not like his behavior, so he slapped Philip. Lastly, the ending of the story is when Timothy passes on and Philip is alone on an Island.

- This is the scene where Timothy had Philip write ''Help'' on the sand since Timothy couldn't spell it.
- This is the scene where Philip was mad at Timothy and started calling him ugly, stupid, and saying that Timothy couldn't spell. So as you can see, Timothy slapped him.
- This is the scene when the devastating storm took Timothy's life. While Philip was still upset, he sadly said the words ''I'm blind and alone on this cay.''
