- One day in Philadelphia of May 1787, A bunch of delegates came together to change history as we know it forever.
- Today we shall get rid of the Articles all together.
- So they split into 2 groups. 1 for large states and 1 for small states.
- Houses in Congress: 1.) House of Representatives 2.) Senate
- # of Representatives in Legislature: Based on : Population of State
- The Virginia Plan By: James Madison
- Branches: 1.) Legislative 2.) Judicial 3.) Executive
- Branches: 1.) Legislative 2.) Judicial 3.) Executive
- The New Jersey Plan By: William Paterson
- Houses in Congress: 1.) Congress
- # of Representatives in Legislature: Equal for all states
- Larger states side ( Virginia Plan)
- There were arguments, of course.
- Smaller states side (New Jersey Plan)
- But eventually, there was a conclusion.
- In 6 months:The end result is The Great Compromise
- The Great Compromise: Made By: Roger Sherman
- And that was how the Constitution was made! But 9 out of the 13 states had to approve it, but that's a whole other story.
