- Parris goes into the woods and sees his daughter Betty and his niece Abigail dancing with other girls from the town
- Betty is sick and Parris is distraught
- Reverend Hale comes to town and converses with people in Parris' living room about witches
- Betty rises and along with Abigail calls out the name of witches in town
- I saw Goody Proctor with the devil.
- John Proctor comes home with a gun slung over his shoulder
- Elizabeth tells John to go to court and tell them Abigail is lying
- Hale goes to John Proctor's house to see if him and Elizabeth are good practitioners of their faith
- Elizabeth is arrested for witch craft by Herrick
- I will bring you home. I will bring you soon.
- Court is in session with Judge Danforth
- Giles, Proctor, and Francis come to court with 3 depositions
- Mary Warren confesses that she lied about the witchcraft and Abigail says that Mary sent her spirit upon them
- Proctor confesses that he had an affair with Abigail and Elizabeth denies it to save her husband
- Hale tries to persuade prisoners to confess
- Parris says that Abigail and Mercy have run off with his money
