- Liesel steals the book
- Ilsa shows Liesel her library
- Liesel, the Hitler youth and other Germans attend the burning of books on Hitler's birthday. They burn any book that portrays Jewish people in a positive way.
- apple stealing
- After most of the books have been burned Liesel returns to the fire where she picks up a book that wasn't destroyed by the flames. She is seen doing this by the Mayor's wife.
- Max arrives at Himmel street
- During one of her laundry runs for her Mama Ilsa the Mayor's wife shows Liesel her extensive library and they continue to read on every one of Liesel's visits
- Liesel and Max swap their nightmares
- Liesel and Rudy join an apple stealing gang where they steal farmer's crops for extra food.
- Max comes to Hans for help using the adress that was given to his mother years ago by Hans after Max's father saved Han's life in the war.
- Liesel and Max are both haunted by their dreams and share them.
