Jonas received a memory of breaking legs. It hurt him a lot.
Jonas felt lonely because he realized that he's the only one who felt the pain and he can't have a medication.
He received a memory of the hunger.
One they, the community tried to increase the population but the Giver told them that there will be a hunger so the community cancel this plan.
The Giver was so vital for them because they hold all the memories and nobody will get hurt because of this.
Jonas' father became the one to nurture the twins and he has to choose the one to release.
